Monterey Bay Aquarium

Saturday, March 13th
Our second morning that we wake up to brilliant sunshine, and a perfect weather to see the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  It is ranked the number 1 aquarium in the world, so it’s a definite must see.

What a great location, situated down along Cannery Row and Fisherman’s Warf in the beautiful seaside town of Monterey.  Truly it was a great place to spend the day.  The viewing fish tanks were 2 stories tall, & the viewing areas are huge.  We really get the sense of being down in the water with all the fish - minus the scuba or snorkel gear and being wet.

We head to see Pebble Beach which is a famous golf course area, for which the  pros play the AT&T Pro Am tournament.   The US open will be held there this year, so we wanted to check out where all the great players play their game.

We take a drive called the 17 mile drive which winds along the coast by all the golf courses at Pebble Beach ( 5 in total) and the beautiful seaside homes. What beautiful surroundings to golf, although today would have been difficult - really windy- the kind of wind you can lean into and won’t fall on your nose wind.

We end the day back in Carmel to our home away from home, and decide to stay here another day just cause it is so beautiful to be near the ocean.
