We all woke up around 10:30 this morning - a little groggy! The weather was grey and cool. Nothing a little Starbucks can't cure! We set off to Discovery (science) Centre. Saw what we will all look like at age 72 - let me warn you, this was a little scary! Maritime Museum was really interesting, a walk on the wharf and supper at a Japanese restaurant to enjoy some entertaining Teppanyaki cooking finished off our day. (We all got to try a little mid air egg splitting with some mixture of success, embarassment and laughter.)
Cool Facts we learned:
1) Halifax Harbour is the 2nd largest natural harbour in the world.
2) The Halifax Explosion in 1917 (a munitions ship exploded in the harbour) was the largest explosion ever until the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima - windows 100 kilometers away were blown out of the buildings.
3)Halifax was the main centre of rescue and recovery for the Titanic.
